Named after the hold, and the hold is the record.
Aaron Rodgers started 154 games across fifteen seasons here, the longest single hold anywhere in the league, and returned plus 493. Nobody else has kept one man that long. Davante Adams ran nine seasons and 109 starts for plus 366 beside him, and Matt Forte nine and 116 before that. This is the one franchise whose identity and whose method are the same thing.
The draft pays for it. Plus 205 above replacement, one of only three franchises in the black off the board, and both of the men above came from it. Everything acquired any other way is worth minus 39, which is close enough to nothing that the answer is simple: Ed M. drafts and then waits.
Two titles, in 2011 and 2020, nine years apart, and no pattern between them. A quarterback led one and a receiver the other, and the franchise has never won the same way twice. Nine top-four finishes in nineteen seasons puts it fourth in the league for consistency.
But it ends badly more often than it should. Last place in 2013 and again in 2025, and the 2025 finish came the year after a fourth. Rodgers was still on the roster into 2026 at forty-two, kept again, which is either the habit that produced two championships or the same habit outliving them.
All six positions, in detail. The callout above is the glance.
